After spending 3 or more hours this morning on the Internet and utilizing the 800 numbers of the hotels within the vicinity of the Orlando Convention Center, I am hoping SOMEBODY on this forum who knows the area can provide a little insight.
The hotels IMMEDIATELY adjacent to the Orlando Convention Center are SOLD OUT for the dates November 29 through December 5. Just as well, though, since the price range is $175 through $300 per night.
I read the reviews on a couple others close by. The Days Inn Civic Center, about a half a mile, got an awful review, just horrible, all the way from "dirty rooms" to "poor service."
The Howard Johnson Plaza Suites does have room availability on the dates referenced above, $79 per night. It looks as if it is WALKING DISTANCE to the Orlando Conference Center, which is desirable.
The Sheraton Studio City Hotel and Clarion Hotel Universal are a short 5-minute drive to the Orlando Convention Center, ranging from $85 to $89 per night with the proper code.
There are at least 50-plus hotels within 5 to 10 minutes of the Orlando Conference Center.
I would sure love to hear from someone who knows the area and can provide some helpful info.
