Oscar v morra who do you fancy ?

I think an improvement on these race to 100 formats could be:

Race to 100 for 10K per man lets say.
For every game ahead, an extra 500.

The losing player can quit at any time in the race, losing the 10K, and the 500 per game current deficit. Or, he can stay in it and try to fight back and get some of the money back.

This would make lopsided matches more exciting, imo. Either they will end early, or every single game will mean something. This is just a suggestion from a railbird! :)

That's an intriguing twist that for a gambling session could lead to some interesting decisions.

For here, though, I think many of us railbirds focus too much on the money..

"How much are they playing for?" is asked a lot. The more they are playing for, the more others are involved--not really that interesting. This match is really about pecking order.

I am confident Mr. Frost cares more about the prospect of others saying he's a better one-pocket player than Mr. Pagulayun than he cares about the new addition on his house.

It's easy to take a cynical stance and think otherwise, but except in rare occasions, these top players are building a legacy; they're battling for what words go in their obituaries...
