O'Sullivan stumbles a bit

Yeah that was a terrific shot. But like most terrific shots, he wouldn't have needed it if he had executed the previous shot correctly. ;)
 
Ronnie didn't play as well as he would normally in the latter frames but that takes nothing away from Selby's performance- it was great and under immense pressure.

I was rooting for Ronnie but wasn't all that disappointed that he lost- Selby deserved the title for sure. That last frame was totally composed.
 
Whenever I'm having a bad night and getting frustrated I think if the best players in the world can have a bad night .. who the hell am I to never expect it lol
 
turn the match ugly against Ronnie, cluster the balls, move the reds to the other side of the table, force him to execute his gorgeous shots only to be rewarded with small point totals off the balk colors

then wait for him to make a mistake

he simply doesn't have the patience for a grimy gritty match

oh he'll still be the odds on favourite but you really start to level things playing tactics against him
 
Congrats to Mark Selby for his finals win !

Ronnie O was taken out of his game a bit. Excellent position play with safties on Selby's part! Just goes to prove , Ronnie is human ! ;)

Gritty and effective match play will out do raw talent any day of the week - eventually.

Someone on a UK board said "Mark Selby, a really great guy but boring to watch, whereas O'Sullivan is a complete cock but great to watch"
