George Balabushka the famous cue maker died in the 70's...his family sold the name/rights to a company i believe Adam ..who makes the cues now...they make them according to his styles/designs that George made.i purchased a late model Balabushka cue new 2 years ago for about $750.00......in my opinion it is an excellent, well balanced, well made cue...it is my main cue i play with beside a custom cue that i have.....everyone that has ever seen or used my Balabushka loves the hit, looks and quality of it...

are u sure China ????????????????cause i always heard that they were made in Canada and Japan..if it's china then there isn't anything left that ISN'T from China...can any one else elaborate on this made in China ?????

I have a new version Balabushka, and I think it hits great. Very well balanced, smooth feel to it. And, of course, it has the classic Bushka design, which I love. It is made my Adams. They also make the Helmstetter cues. I've had a few of those, and to be honest, I don't think they compare to the Balabushka. From what I have read, the Adams version Balabushkas are made according to George Balabushka's specifications. As far as where they are made- the last I heard, they were made in Japan and Canada.

I bought one a couple years ago, came with a little sticker that said made in Japan. Also a paper claiming to have made these cues like Balabushka would be making them.

Decided I didn't like the heavy stainless steel joint although the cue was well made.

It's my understanding that George made about 1200 cues in his lifetime. Of these, only about 3500 are still in existance! ;)

just more hot air!
