Is anyone from there? I'm moving there in a 2 weeks and was wondering if someone could tell me if they know of any pool halls in my area. I checked the online phone directories and such, but it seems that not many halls are registered on it.

I live in the area.

You've got the Broken Cue on Green bank road Nepean with 4 9 foot tables and a crap load of bar tables. $6 flat rate from open-6:30

Broken Cue on Hazeldean rd, Kanata. 1 snooker table, about 10 or so 9 foot tables with 4.5 inch pockets, some are 4.25 inches. The also have some bar tables. $6 flat rate from open-6:30

Tailgators on Merrivale, Nepean. Larger room, with decent food, poor tables and red chalk. $10ish per hour.

Orange Monkey (not sure the address) downtown ottawa. 6 excellent snooker tables, recently re-covered and about 10 or so pool tables. $7/hr for the snooker. Not sure about pool, never played on their pool tables.

Cue and Cushion on Bank Street. It's quite the dive, everything is dirty and you feel dirty as soon as you enter. It has a snooker table if your desperate, but it is a crappy brunswick table.

Dooley's on St Laurent. Very nice room, a bit expensive though at around $11.75 per hour, though they have a decent membership system. As a member you get sent coupons for free pool on your b-day and christmas. Nice place to bring family or dates to.

Mclarens, on Elgin street downtown. Decent tables, decent food. They have about 18-20 tables, but they are more of a sports bar with pool tables. They do not have any leagues or tournaments, the walls are lined with sports memorabilia, but they nothing to do with pool. If you go there to practice, the waiters give you a strange look.

Across the river in Gatineau are the Terminus rooms which are very nice, though I have only been there once.

I believe there are one or two more but these are the ones that I am familiar with and/or frequent.

First of all, wow. Much appreciate. (+rep)

I'm just across the bridge, first few blocks into Hull. I'll have to look up a few of those addresses, as I don't know Ottawa at all yet. All I know is my street and the market :p

Thanks again.

No problem.

The closest place to you in Ottawa is probably the Orange Monkey. If your into snooker they have a league every monday, and I love their snooker tables. From what I understand, though I think the best league in town is at the Broken Cue on Greenbank on the bar box. There are some good players there. But it's about a 10-15 min drive out of the downtown area.
