Ok so this isnt exactly my story, but never the less it does bother me as I'm a regular at this pool hall and am good friends with the owner. For the sake of hiding the identity of the person lets call him "Mucky Hell" as I do not want to start a huge fight over wrong v.s right.
Anyways, the owner of Pockets here in good ole Lansing, MI is a guy names Steve, he knows many pros and old road players and whatnot as he has been around playing in these parts for quite some time. Steve and "mucky" have a not so great past and maybe this is the reason as to why this whole thing went down like it did.
Friday night "mucky" and a couple road players come in to town and want to hook up playing a few guys from our area, few games Friday and they arrange to play on Saturday various games (3 cushion being one of them), so "mucky" and the two in tow with him come in and decide to warm up on our brand new heated slate billiards table before the other guys get there. They play for a bit and then decide to "leave" for a bit and said they would be back later to play when the others got there, so "mucky" and the boys cover up the table quickly, pay the tab and leave. They never made it back and when the other guys who were going to play them come in, they wait a bit and decide to play a few games of 3 cushion.
They take back the cover and as soon as they do, in the corner there is a rip about 1/2" long going in a "V", and you can clearly see a chalk circle on the slate. Needless to say they knew "mucky" wasnt coming back and the reason why they covered up the table and split like that. So now Steve is trying to track down "mucky" or his address as he is hitting him with a small claims court case for damages to the table, not really worried about the money, just hoping to get him in a "trap".
Needless to say, I was pretty upset that I missed "mucky's" visit, untill I found out about the damage, then more angry than anything. Never met the guy and now I do not want to...truely sad.
