Almost recovered from the Jersey trip... The straight pool was awesome and I have a newfound love for the game....

Ralf and Oliver got tips to try so that was a plus =) Never could catch Mika, Thorsten or Danny where I was in Outsville mode and not Accu-Stats mode...

Hopefully everyone has received their samplers that had ordered prior to my leaving... Shipped the weekend orders today on tips and will ship rack sets tomorrow....

Everyone shoot straight and I will field whatever questions anyone has... I think the last thread I was in before the trip was about when to change tips... I can pretty much guarantee most tips will change substantially within 4-6 weeks unless you purchased a hard to start with... Anyone who tells you you can leave a tip on until it gets down to a dime definitely likes em hard so take their advice with a HUGE grain of salt......

Hi Chris, I am curious as to what you mean in the statement above?

Is the sample pack still available? I've been looking for a decent single layer tip that plays with the same consistency that good layered tips provide.

The sampler will stay around for awhile to get more people aware of them....

Hi Chris, I am curious as to what you mean in the statement above?

Sorry I missed the question... It has to do with pressure... Most of the soft and medium tips out there are under-pressed to make them feel and play like softs and mediums and as such they will continue to harden up thru play...

Exactly what other manufacturers press at I cannot confirm but I can confirm that on many tips a repress will result in a harder durometer reading..... Since there is a hardness / COR correlation that means the tip changes.. This is why many old timers would repress their tips before installation so they could eliminate large changes.....

Today with layered tips a repress just means you should have bought a harder tip... I had a friend rave about a repressed moori soft at one time and I pulled out the durometer and congratulated him on making a moori hard... And proceeded to pull out a hard version and show him he was within 3 pts of factory hard......

Could you check to see if you received my order for the sample pack? Sent a payment on Monday using my wife's Paypal account then left you a PM here on azb with the shipping details.

Thanks

Received my tips this week. Super-fast shipping from Renfro.

Just sitting in the bag, the tips look nice and consistent to each other. I can't wait to get one on my player. I tried all 3 hardness levels, while in Tunica, and they all felt great.

I'll probably start with the hardest first. If it works, I'm good to go. If it's overkill I'll step down to the medium. I can't imagine having to go to a soft one, as I've never liked a soft tip, but I'm going to keep an open mind.

I bought 2 of each hardness level, fwiw. Whatever I have left over, after I figure on what I'm settling on, I'll probably give to my cuemaker. He's a good friend and maybe he can use them for some other player's cues in the area to help spread the word.

All tip orders will ship first thing in the morning.... I try and keep the trips to the post office to Mon-Wed-Fri but this week I had Tax returns and CPAs to deal with for several clients so everything from this past weekend thru today will mail tomorrow....

Still doing samplers to get more of these out and demo'd... I will point out that my skin is thick so I will happily take criticism if you cannot find a grade that suits you. Of course I am hoping to hear the good stuff...

I am also sending Business Cards with the Samplers going forward... Please give the card to your cue repair guy when he puts the tips on... I do give quantity breaks to the repair guys.....

Chris

fwiw I finally tried the G2 medium and If yo don't find a Ki-Tech to suit you it might be a good choice for a layered tip.... I need to do some real time testing and see how it changes over 4-6 weeks but out of the package it's not too shabby.......

I had a problem with miscues using the "soft". It felt rubbery to me.

The "medium" is playing well on my Tiger shaft. I don't think it's necessarily blowing my mind, but it plays consistent and I have no complaints about it.

I put the "hard" on my break cue, and it's breaking pretty good. It hits almost like a Samsara, but with more feel and control.

Just my 2 cents.

I thought the G2 was OOS? Where did you get your G2 from?

Friend of mine had a cpl at the pool room... Hadn't seen him in a few years and traded him a Ki-Tech sampler pack for a medium G2.... I know that isn't the answer you were hoping for =)

I tend to try and pick up new tips to try... At some point I fully intend to grade everything on the market (yeah I know that's completely nuts) based on COR and Durometer both and publish the results but right now I have too many other projects to tackle.....

I keep promising some friends chalk by Derby... Break Tips by the Open and I have several other projects under wraps that will hit the light of day eventually... OHHHH and Shirts LOL Should have a line of shirts coming out by derby as well.... Now I just have to get the GF to find a job since she was layed off last month and I can quit spending my Outsville money on Bills instead of getting projects moving forward LOL

All Outsville orders are packed and will go out tomorrow... I had everything packaged to go Friday and missed the post office by 10 minutes and I managed to pass my first Kidney stone in the wee hours Saturday Morning so there was no trip to the post office Saturday...... If you ordered last week and do not receive your package by this Friday let me know and I will provide tracking info.... Sorry for the delay....

Shoot straight,
Chris
