I recently had new rubber installed on my 9 foot Diamond table. The playing surface is now 50 1/8 inch by 100.25 inches. Can anyone tell me what is going on here?

Clearly someone stole some of you rails.

Question

Did you actually measure the playing surface BEFORE the rubber replacement?

If you did, what was the measurement?

RL

Still an exact 2 : 1 ratio
No problem, except that you will be over-hitting when you get to a correct table. :D

How big are you expecting the playing surface? 50 x 100 is the proper size for a 9 foot. Or did you mean the 1/4 and 1/8 inch extra?

What rubber?

I know what the proper size is. Why do I have an extra 1/8 inch on the side measurement and an extra .25 inches on the overall length measurement?

Yes, rubber.

I wasn't being a wiseguy about your spelling of rubber....
....I am curious what brand of rubber you used....it might have different dimensions.

Some leeway on the rail bolts perhaps...are the pocket openings the same?

Thanka for the clarification. Hopefully pt 109's table is the same and that is normal for diamonds.

Sounds like your subrail bevel should have been cut down to account for the width of the Artemis cushions. What kind of table do you have and what cushions were on it before?

I know the owner of this table. This is a red label 9' diamond. I don't know what the rubber was before the new install. I am curious what is going on here as well, as I have a 9' diamond that will need new cloth in the next year or so and new rubber eventually and I want it done right.

Does that 1/8" and 1/4" really make an appreciable difference?

Not trying to be a smart ass... legitimately curious.

Measure from the back of the feather strips from rail to rail.
Then measure from the feather strip to your cushion nose.
That probably would be a good start to solve your mystery.

We have two 9-foot Diamond Professionals....( Gold Crown style legs)
The measurements are the same as yours...eighth inch wider...quarter inch longer.

So your installer is blameless.

We have 7-foot Diamond Smart tables...they are bang on...80x40

Funny thing...we have a Gold Crown 1 that is slightly narrower than it should be....
....gotta feeling it can be corrected next cloth installation...those rail bolts have a little
play in them.
