"Actually, it is well known that he DID duck.. not only Allison but every other top ranked female."

"That is why Sigel ducked Allision in the King of the Hill thing and picked LJJ instead."

Then when New York and Jay said differently, you went on the main forum and ask if anyone knew about this.
Am I wrong?
Thank you and good night!

rossaroni......<<You stated what you KNEW,>>

Not even close ross old pal. You seem to enjoy your mistaken assumptions and mischaracterizations about what I have posted and that's fine. I hope you are having as much fun in this thread as I am.

In defending your mistaken position that I stated that I KNEW certain thinkgs you quoted me as stating...

<<"Actually, it is well known that he DID duck.. not only Allison but every other top ranked female.">>

As I have already posted, asserting things as being "well known" is a common phrase in the English language that is nothing more than an OPINION. If you bothered to read a prior post of mine...seeminly one of your favorite passtimes, you would have read my analogy that used politics as an example wherein people state that it is common knowledge that Republicans are smarter people than Democrats...or vice versa. Such expressions are OBVIOUSLY NOT statements of anyone's PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE about the IQ's of a hundred million people. That is an OPINION....OBVIOUSLY.

<<"That is why Sigel ducked Allision in the King of the Hill thing and picked LJJ instead.">>

Where, EXACTLY, does the word "know" appear in that remark. That was OBVIOUSLY and opinion and NOT a suggestion that I have any personal knowledge about that matter.

Here is what I KNOW. I KNOW that negotiations with the reigning #1 female player did not proceed to a conclusion. I KNOW that LJJ was the chosen player and I KNOW that with all due and genuine respect to a GREAT CHAMPION, LJJ was ranked very near the bottom of the WPBA tour at the time she was chosen.

That created the APPEARANCE that MS ducked someone who had MORE than a reasonable chance of beating him in favor of someone who had a vastly reduced chance...thereby created the SUGGESTION that he ducked.

If that is NOT the case, then I apologize to MS but not without the qualifying remark that I KNOW (having watched the promos for the LJJ event and MS's remarks during his commentaries on the IPT matches that he made NUMEROUS disrespectful and condescending remarks about the female players. For verification of that, do KT a favor and buy some of the videos as watch for yourself.

As for NYC Dude's VERSION of the circumstances, I am not aware that he is an official of the WPBA nor has any DOCUMENT issued by the WPBA on this matter ever been posted publically AS FAR AS I KNOW. Therefore, while NYC Dude MAY BE CORRECT I have seen no official comment that would suggest it is nor have I seen any post from any current WPBA official or player in these forums confirming that his VERSION is correct. (although I may have missed any such posts.)

However, while I have spent a lot of time defending female players and objecting specifically to the serious UNDERRATING of AF's skill level on this forum let me say that if Dude's VERSION is correct, then that was a very wrongheaded stance for the WPBA to take IN MY OPINION. Did you read that ross....that is an OPINION. I don't KNOW that the decision was wrongheaded.

But if that WAS the decision, then it was wrongheaded to A) deny AF the very serious sum of money she would have collected and B) to deny her as a FEMALE PLAYER of enormous skill, to get the public attention her participation in that event would have garnered...to the benefit of ALL female pool players and C) it denied her the opportunity to beat MS which would have been a TREMENDOUS benefit to female players in general and the WPBA in particular.

It was a NO LOSE proposition for women. If a woman lost, that is what everyone would have expected and no harm to women's standing would have occurred. But had she WON or even if she got CLOSE, it would have heaped HUGE reputational benefits not only on AF but on female players in general.

If I didn't admire the WPBA so much I would refer to that decision as being dumb but I do admire them greatly and will simply refer to such a decision as being unfortunate.

But again, if MS didn't duck, then I apologize for SUGGESTING that he did...not for saying that I KNEW that he did as you have so badly mishcaracterized my statements. But in the same breath, I will again state my OPINION that MS routinely speaks condescendingly about female players in general and about AF in particularly AS HE DID TO ME PERSONALLY WHEN I ENGAGED HIM IN A CONVERSATION WHILE HE WAS MANNING HIS CUE MARKETING BOOTH IN VEGAS PRIOR TO THE EVENT. HE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD BEEN PRACTICING A LOT AND THAT HE WAS STILL ONE OF THE TOP CONTENDERS FOR TOUR CHAMPIONSHIPS AND THAT AF HAD NO CHANCE...REPEAT...NO CHANCE OF BEATING HIM IN 8 BALL ON SLOW CLOTH.

My response was to compliment him for being one of the greatest players of all time...but that AF might just surprise him....to which he replied something to the effect of "We'll see."

And hey ross...are we having fun yet? (-:
