There bridging is very different, anyone out there use it?Is there an advantage using it?

i use it, and so does most of the people i see playing, it's just more comfortable than the other ones that i've tried. Plus it's nice and secure. Are we talking about the close bridge here?

I use it and now need surgery in my middle finger.
I kid you not. The doc said it will be a simple surgery though.
My middle finger locks up on me now.

i know what you're saying about the middle finger...i have been using this bridge for years and my finger is now crooked and when i don't play for a while and start back my finger will be extremely sore for a day or 2...this bridge is the best one but it puts a lot of stress on your middle finger

bleh

Best closed bridge maybe. I mostly go with the open bridge as do most top Canadian players.

it also hurts when i have long nails cause i get too lazy sometimes to cut em and it basically digs down on my middle finger.

just a thought, if you put both your pointer fingers side by side, you'll notice that the one you're writing with is slightly bent (away from the thumb)-the consequence of years and years of holding a pen... i suppose my bridging hand is *slightly* deformed compared to my stroking hand
