Photogs generally make money two ways: sitting fees and print sales. Most do not let go of the hi-res file. Personally, I charge $1000 for a hi-res image and it's usually corporations who request those for use with brochures, billboards, et cetera.

I'm sure you could find someone to sell you a print of Alex Pagulayan. What size are you looking for?

Well I'd like to get the original file, so I can Photoshop it. On the other hand, $1k is beyond my reach. And of course I am looking for a photo that I really like, like:

which looks bad as a thumbnail but great as a real picture.

But I will seek an original file. Thanks for your advice.
