Paid a huge compliment at league

Mine's not about Straight Pool, but trying to think of a true feelgood moment, this one springs to mind: sometime in 1989, travelling the U.S., I call up Pete Tascarella, and when I tell him I'd love to meet him in person, he tells me to come play some weekly (or was that monthly) tournament in Newark. As chance would have it, guess whom we draw in the very first round - each other! I don't remember anything about our match other than that I won. But later, after the tournament, when he hands me his cue to hit a few balls with it, and asks me about my stay in the U.S., I'm telling him I'm there to improve my game, and that I'm on my way to take lessons with Jerry Briesath. He stares at me in disbelief, and says: "You want to take lessons? What for? Jerry Briesath can't teach you anything you don't know already!" Young and naïve as I was, that really made me feel proud about myself. He was so wrong, of course… LOL!

Greetings from Switzerland, David.
