If you go to my Palmercollecter.com web site, it's a PB 7, late 1970's to mid 1980's line and an inexpensive Palmer case. The cue goes for about $300 in excellent shape, the case about $50 - $75. The "Palmer Custom Cue" decal was probably sanded off in a refinish or just flaked off, very common.

Have you seen the cue the guy from Austrailia has on ebay claiming it to be a Palmer or Paradise? The exact cue is in the Blue Book as an Adam but he insists it is not an Adam cue. He bases it on the fact the veneers appear to be a Titlist. I was told the Late Titlist were made in Japan. Do a ebay search for Palmer and let me know what you think about the cue.

Looks almost exactly like the one I had. If there is no engraving on the butt cap, can it be considered excellent shape? Mine was engraved, I am wondering if some of them were not, or if it had been repaired somewhere along the line.

Tracy
When I say' "almost exactly", I meant. Mine had a plain butt sleeve, but the forearm was the same.

Tracy,

This line came with a Palmer Custom Cue decal under the clear coat and a lot of them chipped off with the finish or are just sanded off in the finish process.

I should say "if in excellent condition, the value is $XXXX . I do this because I can't tell if a cue is decent just from photos. My experience is the opposite of what you always hear : photos do most cues more justice than reality.

It's definitely a Palmer PB-7.

I've got one myself, just refinshed by Mike Webb.

It could be an Adam cue modified to look like a Palmer.

If it were a Palmer, it could be a Model 3 first catalog with an ebony Titlist forearm and extra inlays in the forearm.

Here's my Model 3 first catalog butt:http://palmercollector.com/Model3Page.html

Here's an ebony Titleist forearm on a Model 9:

The butt cap looks like it was remade from a newer piece of plastic. However, that is not unusual since they didn't come with a rubber bumper, a lot of them get chipped and cracked.

The cue is in Australia, the seller has low feedback and a poor rating. I wonder if anyone over here is going to see the cue.

It seems to me that the high bidding from e-bay regulars means they think it's something possibly more valuable, but why would they take such a risk?

Strange indeed.

You have to loook at this a few ways...

Its an ebony titlist cue, if its a Palmer you can add 25% off the bat IMHO...

If the butt cap is original, it is white delrin a material that was available then, and normally doesn't discolor to bad, maybe it ain't a Palmer. BUT it should have the yellowish, brittle junk that used to come on Palmers. If you ask me, its a Palmer.

The extra inlays in the forearm make it attractive. Like a model I or K. Its probably a cue made in the era of the second catalog, just with left over parts from the first catalog. A very common occurance. At VF 2 years ago, a guy came to the booth with a Szamboti blank Palmer he claimed was made in 1989 BEFORE Mrs. Palmer closed shop. So who the hell knows.

They de-listed it now so it was a fraud. Probably identity theft. I find it strange that the seller seemed to know something about cues and had an unusual cue like that to display.
