hi there!

being new to this forum i just want to say hi to everyone and wish a happy new year!

my question is about palmer cues...

i recently looked on ebay for pool cues and found some Palmer Prototype cues for $100 that are said to worth $300... they say that they are selling that cheap because it doesn't have the Palmer logo on them...

is Palmer a good brand?

i'm new to the cue area but interested in buying one. can someone give me an opinion?

are these cues worthless? fake? or a good buy for intermediate initiation? (Ebay #3649595543 )

tks and cheers!

Palmer was a good cue brand made in the US in the sixties through the eighties that I know of. In the late nineties I bought a couple with the triangular logo for around $125.00 each and they were made in China. Since then they have made jump break cues for less than $100.00 and colorful cues with decal points and patterns.

These are cheap imports using the name of Palmer. They are basically the same as any low end import. The original Palmer company closed down and someone either bought or copied the name.

Why they call them "prototypes" is beyond me - I've never seen so many prototypes in my life, unless you call anything without a decal prototype.
