Gary and I spoke on the phone today. I spent a while going through the archives to see if we could compile a few names.Hi, Not sure which thread to post this in but I have a friend with a model k second catalog that is missing the foil original by palmer, I saw on here that someone has them or might remake them.
Thanks Gary
I appreciate the responses so far. Because Tate is the Palmer Authority here at AZ, he was my first thought. However, in perusing the Archives, I had seen where Tate had posted on other threads that he wanted to know if anyone had any available. My hope would be that people in the NY/NJ area that may have had contact with the Balner Family or old billiard supply places, and may have picked up some foil in the past as souvenirs from when Palmer was located there. I appreciate the information.Surprised nobody said it but send a PM to Tate. If anybody knows where to find one, he does.
Gary will be touching base with many of his fellow cuemakers to be sure. Thanks.ask in the "ask the cue maker forum"

I don't understand why one of the cue makers/cue restorers don't just buy a Kingsley Hot-Stamp machine and the Hobo font to produce these. I know it constitutes a bit of an expense, but there would be at least some demand for replacement foils. But that is a guess. If there are only a handful or even a few dozen people wanting replacement foils, it might not be worth it.
Also, I suppose an argument could be made against doing this as some would create bootleg/counterfeit Palmers and so-on.
As a point of information, from personal experience, none of my Palmers have exhibited any problems with the foil and the oldest of them go all the way back to the mid-sixties.
I have the original 1/2" foil and am looking into remaking them. They will only state "Original by Palmer" in the correct font and you will have to supply a picture of your cue beforehand.
Since this will be a significant investment on my part, I would like to know how many of you are needing this replacement foil.
Thank you
Paul
