when were the last original palmers built?

i seen a guy with a palmer last night in legue.

it was a plain jane but pretty and the butt was big on it.

it said palmer on the butt cap and it looked like the ones on here, but he said he bought it 7 years ago.

were their palmer remakes or replicas done or could this be a real one?

The original company closed it doors in 1994. The name Palmer was sold and used on imported cues starting in the late 1990's using various logos and continuing today. Here's a link to the original Palmer's company's history I compiled on my web site.

this cue was honey stained with a white butt cap.palmer was in black,it looked like the palmer insignia that is on the bottom of the catalog on your site.
do the older palmers have thick butt ends?
he said he bought it 7 years ago but did not say if it was new or used.

It's more than likely a PM or PB line cue built in the 1980's. Check out these catalogs and see if you spot it:

The butts were 1.25" thick, pretty much standard I guess.

looks like the pm 6.

are these at all collectable?

thanks.

No. The PM cues were a production line made by Adam to Palmer's specs and were a lot made. They sell for typical plain jane cue values. They are a good playing cue.
