Just got my Palmer back from Scot at Proficient Billiards and couldn't be more pleased. Those guys do great work there and I highly recommend them for anyone that needs refinish or repair work on their cue.

Very nice work.
What is the butt cap made of (Delrin or Ivory)?

Ive had Scot do a couple of my cues and he generally takes a full week with the cue depending on the workload. add in about 4 days for shipping back. Each case was like getting a new cue back.

Right now he's on about a two to three week schedule. He has a lot of work because he hasn't raised prices in about 3 years that I know of.

I can't believe he can refinish a cue as beautifully as he does for $75. That's way too cheap for the job he does.

The buttcap on this Palmer is their own stuff they had made up from a high strength resin. It is almost identical to the ABS rod that Atlas sells.

I would like to see pictures of the Dale Pattens when they come back.

Scott did a great job of removing the blemishes in the butt cap and that was one reason for the question. The before picture appears to have a couple of small knicks in the butt cap.
Great refinish job that he did.

Thanks again for an answer.

No worries Tate will surely post pics when i get the cues back... strangely not too many ppl seem to know about about Dale Patten cues, or even whether he is still in business... i always get the answer..."Dale Perry u mean??" Would be nice if someone can shed more of his story here..?

The new Blue Book covers him pretty extensively, but no photos of his cues. . The ones I'm familiar with are a few I've seen from the 1970's that look like Rambow's. Ritchie Florence was hot back then. He was his brother in law and sold his cues. The BB says he also built cues on Szamboti and Spain blanks.

That's exactly what it looks like, a brand new stick. It's my playing cue I love the way it plays but just wasn't crazy about the thread wrap and it had a few dings and blemishes.

But now I'll be proud to pull that thing out of the case. It looks sharp now.
