It's actually a Model J Palmer, 2nd catalog probably 1968. The model J was introduced off a card that was between the first and second catalog actually.

I would normally expect this cue to auction for $2,000 to $2,500 in very good original condition, assuming the cue is straight.

If it belonged to a famous player, that would of course raise the value. According to the seller, the player is not a big name pro.

Chris, "If it belonged to a famous player, that would of course raise the value". How much would this bring the value up. Thanks

It depends on what name, who's looking to buy, and I would also add how many such similar items exist for a single player.

For example, the I think the Joe Balsis cues would have probably brought a lot more money if there were fewer, and they were sold a little more discreetly and spaced apart in time a little.

I would say a cue like this made for a well known pro with his name on it would add $1000 minimum. It was owned by a champion, Mizerak or Balsis, with letters, etc. several more thousand.

I offered a guy what I thought was a lot of money for a Palmer made for a famous player, basically triple the cue value, and he turned me down stone cold. I was a little taken aback that the price was so easily dismissed because I thought it was good money.
