Panthera vs Jacoby

I was never a fan of predator butts. But recently I tried a friend's 4000+ Panthera and it’s a great cue for sure. It figures since it’s not actually made by Pred :) Are lower price Jacoby cues comparable in terms of construction, weight and balance?

Should be I think, the Pantheras have some Pred specs but are built like other Jacoby’s construction wise. Playing a Jacoby myself currently and it’s a great cue.

Gotta talk to them about what they might have under their own branding that is closest, but...

The Panthers is a premier offering. Expect to be told no gold for bronze price.

True but sometimes brands have the same construction philosophy across and the price difference comes from fancier woods and inlays. Take Mezz, there's hardly a difference in play betwen a plain one and a super fancy one but the price difference can be 2000

What would you say are the Pred specs other than the logo?

It wouldn't surprise me if the production agreement granted sole privilege to the construction of Pantera to predator...for a limited time.
Karim's momma didn't raise no fool.

I have 2 Jacobys, both slightly under $900. They are fantastic cues. I have their Ultra shaft and their Kielwood shaft for them. Also have a Rhino carbon shaft and a new Rhino carbon Must shaft. Right now I am using their Kielwood shaft, and my wife uses the Rhino shaft.
I'm not going to say they are better than my Schon's, but they are also not worse. You don't need to spend over a thousand dollars for a great playing cue, these 2 Jacobys will play just as good as their $4000 ones.
They are the 4th and 5th from the right.
Two great cue makers.

didn't jacoby make pred designs early on? i know falcon produced them, but iirc there was a second cue company involved too?

early preds looked nice. then it all went to shit with futuristic and/or "sporty" designs and painted cats and sh*t..
