Mike, nothing wrong with a photograph setup correctly. Some of the best still use them and have no plans on changing. A little dolly will handle these. I had a dolly and I could get it on the dolly by myself, but wasnt super easy. I decided to make wheels that take 5 minutes to bolt up.

i thought i would throw this on here if any of you guys needed one.:D my next post will be a boom truck

Like I said Mike, they are very heavy. I put one in my basement and the entire house tipped sideways. I had to get rid of it.

it was loaded in the back of a pickup it looked like a larger model than this one.

I used an extendaboom to get my Sharp TMV mill into the corner of my shop. It cost about 300.00 to have it delivered to my house and picked up.

Was the best 300.00 I have ever spent. It still took me half a day to get it in there by myself and I'm still amazed I didn't knck it over. Because of ceiling height, I had to push it about 15 feet....

rollers

sometimes equipment is too big and bulky to put dollie underneath. for years we used one inch black iron or galvenized pipe. roll item till pipe moves too far rearward and keep putting second pipe back to the front of item being moved. Little 6-700lb item dollie is great. start moving 1000 lbs or more you can use pipe rollers much easier. seen many a large safe or complete soda fountain moved this way. By the way nice crane.

moving heavy stuff

rolling things on pipes or wooden dowels is a great idea
i remember my grand father move his garage around the corner of the house on pipes. when i did brake job on a semi truck i would place thin sheet of metal under the dual tires put grease on the metal sheet and slide the dual tires and hub off at the same time then slide the duals back on it worked good if you dont have a wheel dolly
i think we need a section for different ideas of doing things like setting up a shop how to get the equipment in. and we can feel free to make all the jokes we want.
i have had great fun with this thread even thou that it was started to
help if some one who might be looking for a pantograph.

ps i need chain saw to cut hole in shop roof so i can crane pantograph in then need to hire roofers.
