Pardo Custom Cues?

I've seen a few listings on Ebay lately for "Pardo custom cues." They have some pretty nice designs that are somewhat original, but great looking overall. I can definately see a few glue lines in the thicker rings from their hi-res images, but I was wondering if anyone has any insight or has hit with one of their cues. I was thinking of getting one just to throw a 314 on as a nice looking backup hitter. Thanks to all in advance for the help.

I'm looking a slightly different Pardo on eBay that doesn't end until July 25:

This one has six points instead of 4. It weighs a couple of oz. less. It's in Pasadena, not the Phillipines.

I don't like the looks of the joint collar:

It seems to be a cored-out piece of coarse end-grain pine! And yeah, there's a lot of dried glue between the collard ring and the inner dowel.

POS, I think.

The white stuff I see at the end of the joint is probably just dried polish from finishing and polishing the cue. It is not uncommon to see this but it can easily be removed with a damp rag.

The joint collar is NOT pine in my opinion - it is just a joint collar like all other cues.

In all fairness the cues look clean and crisp - I cannot see any obvious defects from the pictures I have seen.

This item is being sold from a location in the USA, but it is made in the Phillipines. It says, on the right hand side of the page, that the seller is from the phillipines...JER

I have yesterday seen a pardo cue.

It's like the most Phillipino Cues - nice design, but not well build.
The joint does not fit the shaft, when it's screwed together it has a wobble.
Ferrule does not really fit with the shaft, looks like a pvc-Ferrule - you can see through it against the light, and then you see that the wood tenon is only 7-8 mm long.

All in all I wouldn't recommend the cue.
