Yes! finally Parica is back here in the Philippines after more than
a decade...and they held an exhibition game here with Reyes, Luat,
Bustamante and Lee Van Corteza. Bustamante wins the tournament.
But the game was more of relaxed and exhibition kind of game.
Efren wins against Parica 7-5 and after the game they were
interviewed and Parica commented that both of them are shooting
poorly. Then Efren added that any new kid on the block can beat
them with their kind of shooting and then laughs...then brush his
chin with his fingers and says in Tagalog "were not that young
anymore, you know!"...laughs again.

But i think more than this exhibition i think they are in some sort of preparation, namely, the Philippine Team for World Pool Championship....and look out i believe they have something on their sleeves...notwitstanding their
tremendous pool talent of this guys!

What do you think?

Think you're right, Cebuano. Then again, the Fillipinos will never sneak up behind anyone. They are expected to perform well and I truly doubt they will disappoint.

I really hope Parica plays well in the WPC. Though it would unreasonable to argue that he needs to do anything to validate his great career, I think that his career credentials are generally not considered on a par with Reyes or Bustamante for the simple reason that too many of his conquests took place in gambling rather than tournament situations.

By the way, whatever became of the very talented Leonardo Andam?

I think ur right most Parica's conquest of Efren is on gambling especially
when Efren was still a rising star then. In fact there is a write up here
right now regarding those days when Parica is still on top here.
( http://www.inq7.net/spo/2004/jun/28/spo_21-1.htm ) Actually this
has same content on Billiard's Digest on Parica.

The last time i saw and heard Dodong Andam was on Phillipine Open here
last March or April and he is doing very well but unfortunately he bowed out
eventually, and by the way it was foreign flavored, meaning players
outside from the Philippines could play.
So which means he is still active right now though not on TV. Honestly i am
from different island here in the Philippines (we have 7,107 islands you know :) ) but i believe Dodong is still playing actively in Manila. I think
someone from Manila who is logging on here can comment on this.

But if heard something on him on my friends here i will most probably
will inform you. ;)
