Rusty, I was really starting to feel my age (81 now) and my body was getting weaker. I exercised only intermittently, maybe only once a week with floor exercises. I did walk occasionally but not on a regular basis. Last month I decided that I really needed to do something or I was going to go downhill fast. I started walking a mile every morning and it was really hard the first few days just to make it home. My legs and hips were sore and I was very fatigued. After a week or so I began to do better. A month in I'm walking faster (a good steady pace) and doing that mile very easily, with little strain. It's become my morning habit to do that mile no matter what.
The best part is my overall health is a lot better. I've got more get up and go! I also do sets of lifts with 5 pound dumbells daily. That's about it. I'm in a Race to Hundred with the world so I've got to stay in stroke. Good luck buddy!
