Paul Allers cue

He doesn't just lengthen the shafts either...butts are 30" and the shafts are 30". 'curly' has one, and he is in OH. I am hoping he will post a review once he sees this thread.:D

Well Lisa, I really like the Paul Allers cue that I bought from you. I bought it cuz I wanted a sp and also to check out a 60 inch cue. I've been playing with 59" for a long time and really wanted to try a 60 incher. I am very pleased with it!! The workmanship is excellent and it feels sooooo comfortable right from the beginning. You know, like when you get a new pair of shoes that are good...they feel great right away. I like the balance point which is about 19" from the butt end but feels more forward balanced than that to me which I like. Well, I also am interested in getting a laminated shaft from Paul someday. I haven't played much lately..for the last 3 weeks due to being at the derby and coming home with a virus and feeling miserable. I'm just starting to feel better and should feel like playing more next week.

Thanks Curly! I am glad you are happy with the cue, and thanks for the write up on it. It's nice when people hear reviews from owners.

Golly, I certainly hope you are feeling better soon!!!!

As you can see from these examples I've posted so far, he is doing some very unique designs...and continues to push the envelope. He has a great passion for what he is doing, and is just the nicest person to deal with. His pricing is VERY reasonable. And, he is one of the few 'dedicated' 60" builders out there right now.

I sold 'curly' my E Indian rosewood Hustler (it's was the only one I had seen him make to date) and he has been extremely pleased with it. Perhaps I can get him to give a review.

I am getting nothing out of this, guys....just have been wanting to show off a local cuemaker's work that continues to impress me with his passion and unique design elements.

Hey Lisa, what a fantastic selection of cues. All I can say is you had better stop it, because you are going to make some of the guys here on AZ Jealous:mad:  :D Because even his conversion cues are not Sneaky in any way.

Lisa, everything you have said is completely truly, I have talked with Paul on the phone, however, to date our schedules have prevented us from getting together. Paul is certainly a great cue maker, even though he is not well known outside of the Northwest. I have seen a number of Paul's cues and I would recommend them to anyone, they are built very solid, and they certainly play as good as they look.

This is a really good idea, posting his work on this site. People can get a great cue for a great price from Paul, and he certainly deserves all the credit he can get.

Thanks, Craig for the nice comments about Paul and his cues. I had one of his earlier petes, and it played VERY well for a 60" cue. ;) He has the 60" cue down to a science, that's for sure! Sadly, I do not currently own one of his cues, but he does continue to tempt me whenever I see him at the weekly shoot in Sedro-Woolley. The one he showed me last Monday....WoW! It was a beautiful shade of cocobolo pete...kinda firey...and he had done quadruple overlapping butterflies in the butt in these sunset colors....it really took my breath away!! If I would had the money, I think I may have actually snagged that one...one of my favs to date. I may have to reconsider my aversion to 60" cues...LoL. :)

I recently saw some much fancier cues he had just completed for a couple of locals....and let me tell you, it's gonna be tough to keep him to ourselves much longer!! He did some Intarsia type ringwork in this one guy's cue that popped that cue from across the room....gorgeous!

I hope you two do get to hook-up, he is just really fun to talk cues with....I think we talk about woods and tips and all that fun stuff every time we see each other...he is very, very passionate about what he is doing, and is not afraid to push the envelope, with regards to unique and different wood combinations and designs.....as you can tell, I really like the guy, as a fellow human being, a lot! He's kinda hard not to like. Also, he is a great supporter of the local league scene...over the last several years, he has been kind enough to donate one of his cues towards our womens' league banquet raffles...which we appreciate very, very much. It was actually kinda cool this year, as one of my team members who did not have her own cue, but rather either shared one of ours, or played with a barstick, won a beautiful Koa PJ cue. She was absolutely tickled to no end, and clutched onto her new baby quit tightly. :) I mean, how cool is that?!

Hey...maybe when you two do find time to get together, I'll see about tagging along....it's as good an excuse as any to finally visit your room! :D

Ha Ha Ha.....I don't live in Woolley myself, preferring an even smaller town, ClearLake...LoL. And everyone knows that Deliverance was filmed on location in GA. However, there are a ton of Tarheels in Woolley and all the way upriver...so it's not a complete stretch! LoL!!!

You can give me an idea of what some of these cues sell for? I have never heard of Paul but came across one of his pieces that I am interested in buying but I wanted to get a base priceline.

Contact 'Master of None' here...that would be Paul Allers, and he can answer your question for you.
