Pay for one shipping get another

Twice in two days I have paid for shipping when I won an auction and paid for one kind of shipping and get an email telling me they have used another.

1. Bought an It's George case, paid for Priority mail (two to three days) in the system. Get an email telling me he has sent the case UPS ground (six days in the system).

2. Bought a stick, paid for next day air. Get an email saying he didn't have any packing material so he sent the cue UPS ground.

I wrote ebay about both of them, like anything will happen. Just pisses me off.

Yes it sux when Sellers do that. IMO, the really good Sellers would never even consider doing that. The only time we change shipping is if it's an upgrade, i.e. pay for UPS Ground and we'll ship it Priority or 3-Day Select.

RE: the cue you paid for Next Day Air, I would not accept it. Just refuse it when it's finally delivered. Cues should never be sent via any Ground service, especially the ultra-slow brown guys. Your new cue is not just "in the system" for 6-days, it's sitting in a train going across the desert in a 120 degree train car. UPS Ground is exactly that - packages are on the ground in a series of train cars and trucks that are not climate controlled. As everyone knows, exposure to extreme heat & cold can ruin a cue, though it's not always readily visible. Kinda taking a car to FL for 2-years then leaving. You might not see the rust, but the damage has been done. Ditto with cues. Even if it looks OK now, the finish may look funny in a month or the rings pop in 2 months.

Sorry dude - not everyone on Ebay is like that.

That is complete garbage. I had it happen to me also. Instead of 3-5 days delivery the seller used a method which was $3-4 cheaper and it took 16 days.

You have a valid complaint. They should refund your shipping charges.

when i ship, i ship just about everything priority.. even when i sell stuff outside of ebay.. i would rather see it get there faster then to have somebody waiting for it.. and exactly that..longer it takes.. more of a chance of something happening to it..

I fully agree with everyone else. If you ever change shipping, it should only be an upgrade. Personally, I add insurance to all items I ship and don't charge the buyer for it. I figure it makes things better for both of us if something should occur to the cue.

it happened here too, i asked for USPS Priority Express and he shipped it via FedEx Intl Express: instead of ard $20 for shipping for a shaft, i had to pay $60! It was an upgrade i did not ask for and it was forced on me!

Got two emails from ebay, one for each complaint.

"I have reviewed your report and can assure you that we are investigating
this matter and that we will take appropriate action..........."

Yada yada yada........

I don't understand this exercize. I'd request a significant partial shipping refund from the buyer. If it didn't come, just leave neg. FB.
