Im sure you can get it all done at FedEx for 10 bucks-Email a copy to yourself-save it when you get home -then you can do what you want with it (i think) there may be better ways but dont buy a scanner unless you wanted one anyway.

He can simply use any smart phone with the free "CamScanner" app (or the many alternatives). It helps you take a photo and line it up nicely and makes a PDF for you. Very, very simple.
