Paypal fees are not 4%.

They're usually 2.9% + 30¢

If you are sending money to a friend or family member (someone who is not a registered seller), you can opt to pay for the PayPal surcharge yourself.

Paypal Fee Table:
For receiving transfers under $3000 USD: the fee is 2.9% + $0.30 USD.
For receiving transfers $3000.01 to $10,000: the fee is 2.5% + $0.30 USD.
For receiving transfers $10,000.01 to $100,000: the fee is 2.2% + $0.30 USD.
Receiving transfers over $100,000: Paypal charges 1.9% + $0.30 USD.

I despise forum cops, but in their defense, the wanted/for sale section is officially in the tank.

Gift the Paypal funds, no charge

Same here and even if it is 2.9% rather than 3.9%. I hope 1% doesn't break the deal haha. Send as gift deal with trusted members.

Personally , I think expecting the buyer to cover the cost is ridiculous. COST OF DOING BUSINESS. Retailers pay a fee for accepting credit cards but they don't add the cost to sale when you use a credit card. If you feel you must you should work it backwards and offer a 4% discount if paying by cash. This add 4% BS irks me.

I dont pay extra when I use a credit card or paypal. Ask the price you want. Dont try to add extra fees to the transaction.

When selling something it makes more sense to include the paypal fee before posting the for sale price, as in price of item + pp fee = price posted. Way more often than not I cover the pp and shipping on everything I sell. Another thing that a lot of people on here probably know but im sure there are some that don't, if you send money as a gift and somehow there is a problem, Paypal will not refund your money. This happened to me last year and since then I will never gift money to anyone for an item. That's why adding any fees to a price beforehand is by far the best solution.

I just say this is the cc / pp price and this is the cash price. Not to hard..

Cash means cash BTW, doesn't mean you ask for the BEST cash price, then at the last second you try to get me to take a Pechauer in trade.
