can anybody tell me the differences between the 2. pro's and cons. I just found out about Google check out by dealing with Bryan Mordt of BCM cues. I never knew it existed, so any help or opinions would be appreciated.................mike

Not crazy about Googlecheckout. Very bad attempt from Google to compete with Paypal.
I have set several ecommerce websites with Googlecheckout and did not like it, lack of techical support. Paypal is still the way to go. Just my 2 cents.

I have developed several sites using both paypal and googlecheckout. They both offer the same service to eMerchants for roughly the same cost. Setting up google checkout requires a bit more technical know how, but is still extremely easy. I never tried submitting a support ticket. A quick google search will usually find the solution to any problem.
Google checkout in its early days did not charge a fee, thus I felt this was the better choice. However, now that they are charging the cost is about the same as paypal. One nice thing about paypal is they store your money in an interest bearing account. A lot of my clients already have paypal accounts so this is usually what I setup. In my opinion, Google will eventually win this market just because what Google wants....Google gets

One plus for GCO is they will offer a payment guarantee on domestic and international orders,
a feature lacking with Paypal.
Another is that Adwords advertisers that take GCO get a fee credit up to 10 times the monthly Adwords spend.
We've submitted just a few support tickets over the past year and GCO has been "responsive for the most part"
but IMO they can do a better job.
GCO works well for a business. I doubt it would be viable for a forum flipper.
I love Google Checkout - it's so easy to use and they send me emails to keep me updated on the status of what I bought. I use actually will choose a site that has Google Checkout over another with the same item item for the same price that doesn't have it.
