If you have the original Jennet Lee version the upgrade is only $10.

Even if you have to pay pay full price its woth it for the online play, nearly daily tournaments and lots of chalenge rooms to hit em around with some realy good people(and a couple of jerks, lol).

I usually play evenings and weekends, same name as in here if you want to play some Moco.

I've played you quite a few times before lol, my name on there is actually MocoChoco.

But yeah il keep an extra eye out for you. Thing is im in the U.K, the times iv probably played you would have been the odd night i havnt been able to pull myself away from playing the game lol

Yeah...the time difference is a bit of hastle...but on the other hand no mater what time of the day or night you want to play, sombody...somewhere is always playing.Ive noticed the game has a very good following in the UK...great for those in the US who are up late or work a swing shift.

FlyorDie.com is packed with spy ware and doesn't even come close to the realism of VP3.

VP3 uses gamespy(a long established multi-game hosting site)to host games; its free but you have watch a quick commercial when joining the server browser, or you can subscribe to skip the ads and get a few extra features.VP3 comes with an installer for gamespy included with the game .

I suck at these pc based games. everytime I try it, I play like I have never touched a cue in my life.

Finally. Yes, 24 hrs. it was. Not that the time is all that bad, it just seemed to me that that site was so well put together that you would think it would instantly direct you to a link.

At any rate its very nice in terms of depth and graphics. I've got quite a ways to go before I can say I'm understanding the speed and english. Just have to keep in mind its a PC game and not pool. And ... thank god I play better on a real table than I do with this thing ...LOL

It was certainly worth the 20 bucks, if for nothing else, the novelty and time passing it provides.

3andstop, glad to hear you finally got it! I think I'll be buying it in the next day or two.

cool, they are following recent innovations like measles cueball :D Theu should include genuine snooker in VP3 Gold, I mean up to Brithish standards, with round pocket jaws. That's what was missing in last version.
Glossy balls is what I didn't like looking at the pictures. Garage ones are closer to reality :) Even beer stains on the cloth! There should be a setting to adjust the amount of balls shine. None are reflecting like a mirror in real life, and I think it will be harder to aim with these.
Still looking forward to try new version!

As far as im aware there will be setting's to change how clean etc the balls and tables are, the balls also get slightly grubbier the longer you're playing.

Also the snooker tables have been brought up in discussion, in the current version they are almost like oversized pool tables..... we havnt heard to much about about what's going to be done with this.... the main issues we have with the snooker table at the moment are, the non rounded pockets, the sound when a ball is potted (again, sounds like a pool table rather than a snooker table) and also the fact that it has the spots going around the sides of the top, which is also only found on pool tables, not snooker ones.

Fingers crossed that most of these issues will be conquered before release.

Glad to see you got it finaly...go to settings and adjust the mouse speed...makes a HUGE difference on how well you can stroke the cue and control you're speed. Also you might switch the "s" key to mouse1 and the "z" key to mouse2,I found that it makes it easier to shoot that way.

Thanks I'll give that a try. I didn't join that link for gamespyarcade because I read the Terms of Service and they seem to want to use your personal info for business related uses. That sure sounded like a business mailing list at the least. :(

I can't believe how realistically the balls roll. Its pretty nice, especially since it wasn't expensive.

thanks again.

I've been using gamespy for over five years and never had any problem with them using my information for any reason other than providing their services to me.They are the leading server browser for almost any game you can think of,VP3 is just one of hundreds of games they provide a server browser for as well as patches, upgrades and forums provided for the user. I believe the only reason they want accurate and updated info on their users is to prevent people from crating multiple accounts to get an unfair advantage in some of the games they host.

Yeah i've never had any problems at all from giving my details to gamespy.

Definately worth getting gamespy mate, playing online is really makes this game so much more enjoyable, tournaments etc.

I've not heard of anyone getting spam or anything due to gamespy passing on details or anything.

When I steal something, its gonna be for a half million dollars or so ... Not for 19 bucks.

(especially when its my wife's credit card) :)

Its already been mentioned, the link you posted is an older version of the game that CANNOT be updated.. and you cant play online with it.

nice! I have had VP3 for a while and love that game. I didn't know there were patches out there. then again I never looked. I just figured VP4 would be coming out soon.

You can play online with it but it would only work with people that have the same version. Of course now a days there are not many people left that have that version so it would be very difficult to find opponents.

Well, your positive feedback regarding gamespyarcade.com has given me the courage to enter all my info. :)

LOL, I thought playing this game was hard. I guess all this comes with age, but trying to figure out this gamespy site is something that appears to require a PHD.

I'm not interested in leagues or anything like that, I assumed there would be a way to simply log on and see a list of people waiting to play in a game by game manner much like the chessclub software I subscribe to a chessclub.com

Am I missing something or is it as it seems where you need now to install AOL instant messenger, and then set up times to meet .... arrrgh :)

<sigh> this seems to be very confusing. Any explanation would be appreciated.
