Does anyone have an extra motor laying around? Its currently backorder from Penn State and my current one is making some squeeking noises, I am affraid it may go out on me anytime and I dont have the luxury of owning 2 lathes:angry:. Please pm with prices including shipping to zipcode 89044.

Does it make the noise as soon as you start it, or under load of say, cutting or sanding? If under load, it is probably the belt slipping or pully setscrew loose. If it happens as soon as starting it, it is probably a bearing, which I would believe to be replaceable, not sure, haven't took mine apart to see.

I checked the belt and make sure retight everything possible......still have noises........might have been a bearing as you said.

So far its still kicking and running......who know:confused: Just hope Murphy does not come visit anytime soon.
