To every one who owns a Penn State Motor, and thinks that the motor low speed setting is too fast. There is a way to regulate the dynamic range of the speed controller, I am setting my motors now to start at 20RPM and go up to 2200 RPM, with out changing pulleys. I will make up a instructional diagram / Schematics on how to change the setting in the next couple of days. Now with a low speed setting like that, you could use this motor on a sanding and finishing lathe, and any other lathe.
I just wanted to see the intrest respose in this prior to posting it.
I will be selling the motors with the controllers and a reverse switch for $165 shipping included.
Finishing Lathe with a 4ft bed $500 (shipping Included)
comes with tailstock and 2 live centers 60 deg and concave
you can also add riser blocks for more room and space when sanding. (+$50)
You can also add a down draft dust collector table for (+$70)
I will build one up next week and post up pictures.

Limited time offer. you can PM me or email at customcuelathes@yahoo.com

Interesting. Will the motor have enough torque at that low rpm that it doesn't stop under a load? Thanks for sharing the info.

I called Penn State Industies, and they stressed that I do not post the instructions on how the adjust the speed setting, due to the high risk of burning out the controller(if you are not carfull), just like what happened with Leonard. I will still re-adjust all my customers controller for no charge.
Best Regards
