I'm in Milwaukee doing a few lessons today and tomorrow. Looks like I'll need to stay until Wed to get them all in.

Gave about 30 mini lessons to players at the WIBCA tournament in Oconomowoc. Had alot of fun finding dominant eyes and helping players understand how Perfect Aim works.

This led to a bunch of personal lessons in Milwaukee area Monday ,Tues, and Wed. But I can do one more each day if needed.

Thursday I will be heading to Madison to do a few there before I go back to Minnesota to finish the new video.

Last time I was here I know there was a few players that I missed that wanted a lesson. Please call me and I'll give you the times available. Had the names and numbers but I didn't bring them with me. I hadn't planned on going to Milwaukee but there was just to many lessons to say no.

Call me at 715-563-8712 Talk to you soon geno......

I'll be at Romines from 12:00 to 3:00 Monday.

Will you be able to swing by Buffalo Billiards this week?

I sure wish I could........

Will you be able to swing by Buffalo Billiards this week?

Hi there Joey,

I'm so busy I can't believe it. I'm going to try and stay in stroke so I can play in this great tournament up here in Beloit this weekend at the Carom Room. $1500 added final for their tournaments here.

I wentr to Romines today for my first lesson and when I was done I met George Pewalski. What a treat. He was playing billiards and it sounds like he just got out of the hospitol again. He's been in and out alot for about the last year or so. Bypasses and heart stuff.

I shook his hand and it was cold as ice. I wish i could have stayed there longer but I had to get to another lesson. It's always a treat to talk to someone like George that for right now is a living lesson. He told me he just takes one day at a time right now.

Great guy......and always good for the game.

And as always Romines High Pockets looks great and they are recovering a bunch of tables. The place looks just great.

I'm going over there tonight and try to play some. I'll probably end up giving another lesson but that's OK too.

I had a list of about 8 or 9 players that wanted a lesson when I was down here at Romines about 6 months ago but it's next to my bed in Minneapolis.

And I swityched to a Predator 314 2 about 6 days ago. I can't believe I didn't switch a long time ago. these came out after I quit in 99.

It was real tough just like everyone says on the forum here to adjust to how it plays. It took me about 15 minutes.:rolleyes:

I played in Oconomowoc with it in the 9ball tourny and almost won it. I beat the guy the first set and had a Perfect safe to play but went for a stupid shot. Instead of ball in hand I didn't get to shoot again. It wasn't the sticks fault though. That predator is the nutz.

Do they make a predator that will help you play smarter/:confused:

I can't believe I listened and believed how much they would ruin your game and be so hard to play with. I tried using my old shaft and felt like I wanted to throw up.

The first night I used it at shooters in Burnsville last monday I bought it and hit about 20 balls with it and won their tourny there. Some of the players that knew that I bought it looked at each other and said OH AOH.

I never missed a ball all night. it even made it easier to make a couple of combos.

I might stay here until sat.

Romines is a great little (BIG) poolhall and I might even get some action.

But my main goal here is to increase the ability of as many players as I can.

Have a grreat week. Geno..........

Geno,

Are you going to be at Romine's this evening or possibly tomorrow evening?

If so, I'll come out and give you some cheap (gas money) practice. :)

I have a lesson tonight...........

Geno,

If so, I'll come out and give you some cheap (gas money) practice. :)

I have a lesson tonight but if something changes I will be there. If so i might get some bigger action maybe but I need all the practice I can get.

I had a hard time turning down any game no matter how cheap the action. We always need to keep that stick moving in our hand. I think that is part of the addiction.

The need to keep the stick moving.

Unless you've already learned perfect Aim you might be better off seeing how this works. Hard telling when I'll be back here. \\

Opportunity is knocking. 715-563-8712 give me a call.

I have 2 lessons tomorrow and 2 on thursday but I can do 3 or 4.

I've built up my stamina. I can also play for 10 hours now also.

See ya at Romines..... thanks geno............

This goes for everyone else also. Don't be bashful. Give me a call or meet me at Romines. I will be there at 3:00 this after noon for a lesson.

Stop and see what it's all about.

Good one Joey

You are a SMART GUY!
Hi there Joey,

Having alot of fun here at Romines. What a great place to play pool. It was tuesday night and the place was full. There was no waiting list but almost all the tables were going all night.

If there is a pool recession nobody told all these players. Really great to see. I really think this reflects on the way the place is ran in general. Keep up the great work there JR. We all need proprietors such as yourself.

As I was giving John Giles a lesson there was a young man and his girlfrind playing on the table next to us. Being curious they would be peeking here and there at what was going on. Finally she came over and asked about what I was doing. She could see that John was really liking what he was learning

I gave her kind of a mini lesson and when we got the cue in the correct position It was amazing how the shaft of the cue always looked like it was pointed perfectly at the shot. Her boyfriend was totally impressed. As she shot in a few long shots that before she had trouble making she saw 5 out of six go in the pocket .

Once she saw this she wanted to know more and when she could get a lesson. No fear of the price. just lets do it. Her thirst for knowledge had been tweeked and there was nothing that was going to stop her now. I could see that determination in her eyes that so many of us have. She has alot of natural talent and i know this will open the door real wide and give her the ability to get there.

Just thinking but this little gal might be able to take her ability a long way. Pretty raw right now but you never can tell.. If it happens soon I can tell everyone I told you so right here on AZ.

I set up a lesson for her on Friday. This will be a treat because I can see this little gals game is going to skyrocket. I can just see how exact she has the cue after knowing where her eyes had to be.

With the little bit I showed her they stayed there almost the whole night playing. I don't think she wanted to ever stop. Maybe she's already a pool addict like all the rest of us.

I also showed Mathew a few things. He came back over and told me how much of a difference it made.

This is what it's all about. Helping players enjoy the game they love.

But the real shocker was with Dan H. It turns out Dan is one of those players that only shoots with one eye. It was kind of tough to figure out because instead of the cue being right under the left eye his was still a little bit towards the nose .

Many players that shoot one eyed like Scott Frost appear to have the cue way over on the side of their head. Like the cue is lined up over by their temple. I doesn't even look like it is close to the eye. Dans was just a little the other way.

This is the first time I have ever seen this. I'm always learning and this was a rare find. Once this was established for dan and he got in the right position he was have alot of success with his new found toy. He was still missing some shots but now he could force the eye in the correct position instead of trying to keep it in the middle of his eyes which was hampering his aim tremendously.

But here was the real kicker. Because of shooting the way he does and having contacts that are different strengths he was having trouble hitting the cue ball in the center. So he was getting some spin on the cue ball that was greatly impeding his ability to make the ball.

I put the Predator 314 2 in his hand and the balls were going in the hole more often. Then he would switch back to his old shaft and would miss the ball by a foot. Then he would switch back to the predator and the balls would agian start going in the hole with some just being real close.

The main thing is that now dan has the ability to see the shot correctly. His deal is alot more complicated than most players but now he knows what to do. Now he can coordinate the eyes so the proper image goes to the brain and the body can also coordinate what the brain is seeing properly.

I'm pretty sure Dan will be hunting down a predator shaft today if not in the next few days.

I just found a new advantage for these laminated beauties. If you don't hit the cue ball perfectly in the center and get a little unwanted english it helps to not destroying the shot with the squirt.
That's kind of how it was though.

The english will still spin the ball this way or that way but a small amount to the right or left of center won't make that happen.

It just makes it so much easier to make the ball

Everytime I got done with a lesson I couldn't wait to start hitting some balls myself with my new toy. It wouldn't take long though and I would have someone else there asking me questions and soon I was doing another lesson. Not complaining though. Just wanted to shoot with my new toy kind of like a little kid. A 57 year old kid.

Today I'm going to try and sneak in there early so I can have some fun myself with my new toy,the predator. I still can't wait to hit some balls anytime I get a chance.

Hey, that would make a great commercial for predator. The teacher sneaking out his cue between lesson so he can shoot some balls himself. Then another potential student walking up and he has to reluctantly put it away.

Talk to me Predator. We might have something there???????????:rotflmao1:

Looks like I'll be stuck at Romines or be giving lessons at homes in Milwaukee until Sat for sure. Then I plan on going over to the Carom Room in Beloit for thier great tourny on sat.

What a nice place to be stuck at. A place like Romines High Pockets is like being stuck in pool Heaven.

An old song says that in Heaven there is no beer. I'm sure many of us have heard this.

I sure hope they have pool tables there. And plenty of angels to teach.

.

Have a great day geno...........

OK Geno I am almost ready to bite but for 80 bucks I want to be sure that perfect aim will work for someone that uses 1 eye....

Having convergence insufficiency (inability to cross the eyes) means that my brain has to filter out one of the images presented or I actually will have double vision of the object ball. I can sight with either eye and ignore the information from the other eye but it requires considerable time on the table for my pool eyes and brain to stay engaged. The only time double images present are during periods of concentrated focus. Using soft eyes there is no doubling but the acuity is not sufficient to consistently strike contact points.

I did not know that Scott Frost was a 1 eye aimer or that the best placement for the cue would be on the outter hemisphere for the eye being used.

Is this information on the dvd or is it catered to the 99.2% of the population that use 2 eyes? Would you be interested in trying to append the info if it is not through us working together by correspondence? I doubt that Knoxville TN is on your itinerary.

Wish I was there right now..........

Gene any plans to be in Southern California this year?

I sure hope to get there by next winter for sure. I wanted to get there this winter but it just wasn't in the cards. Had some health issues for about three months that slowed me down.

I was in California once and it was like they had their own little pool world back then. That was before the internet though. I'm sure it has changed alot since then.

Once I get on the road again with the motorhome I will be popping up here and there but mostly moving like a turtle because I will just be going from poolhall to poolhall.

Things have really changed since I first started doing Perfect Aim lessons 2 years ago. Like this trip to Milwaukee and Romines here I've been real busy. The word has finally reached everywhere how well this really works.

Instead of asking ; What are you teaching they just ask when they can get a lesson and how much.

it's so much fun to help so many players.

Thanks for asking geno.....

The best I can do for right now is to do a phone lesson with the video.

If you already have the video just give me a call and I'll work with you right now. I will do this for everyone that has bought the video.

It's amazing how much this helps to understand exactly how this all works.

Geno

How is your touch with the 314-2? It was great for shot accuracy, but I had a hard time trying pic balls out of clusters and get shape on them, after pocketing the ob of couse. Or getting pin point shape in very tight situations.

I went to an ob classic and love it. It does deflect a little more than the 314-2. but I got my touch back. Its the best of both worlds to me. Billy the kid is the only one I know that plays with the 314 and has the touch.

Please let me know what u think of it when bumping balls for shape and tight shape when u get use to it. I felt I was always playing zones for shape instead of pin point shape.

thanks

Sorry Geno,

I didn't see u had a thread opened on the 314 shaft. And on a 9' table I would agree with u using the 314.

Before u buy a back up 314 shaft. Try a few other ld shafts. and after u go to beliot and play in the finals. 8 ball hopefully. 9ball is playing shape in zones.
I believe 8ball on a 7' table is where the trouble is with a 314-2.
Please let me know
thanks again.

Here's the deal...........

Hi there,

My playing shaft was down to about 12.5 mils. I can't hardly play at all with the old 13.00 mil shafts that I have. I had trouble with them the same way you suggest in your post. I could hardly play with them.

This 314 2 is 12.75. It plays a little different because it is a little different and sometimes I'm trying to get shape and it kind of throws me for a loop like the 13.00 maple shaft did.

But I'm still learning with it and i'm going to try the z shaft in a few days. I don't know if I want to go that small but I guess I won't know until I try it.

But i really do like the consistency that I get with everything so far. It does play different and if you don't keep on top of it and remember how to do this a little different or that a little different it will bite you.

But overall i will trade the simplicity of easily aiming over the few shots I have to play a little different.

I got second in my last 9 ball tourny in Oconomowoc. Tied 6-6 and I could have played a dead nutz safe or I could spin the ball, nick the 8 and force the 9 in the corner with the throw from the spin.

I forgot it didn't deflect so I hit the 8 too full, missing the 9 by alot.

I tried this shot again and again and I can't execute it well with the predator 314 2. Next time I'll play the dead nutz safe.

But like I said there are things that are different but you need to figure it out and do what you can do with what you got.

I would have had the same trouble with the bigger 13.00 mil maple shaft but then again there would be less flex or squirt because it is bigger and thicker.

This is why it is hard to go to a bigger shaft when you are used to a small one.

I hope this makes sense. I just need to work it out.

I can't wait to start playing some people. When I get back to the cities next Monday I'm going to give my young sparing partner Jesse Engle a little action and I might even let him talk me into betting a little more to make it interesting. Not much more. just a little. He's a good kid.

Anyway. Got to go. Got a lesson.

Thanks for the post. geno............

Today I'm going to West Allis Pool to give Steve a Perfect Aim lesson.
