Permanent table rack with donuts

One of the pool halls nearby has a 'slug doctored' table, and while it's consistent, the balls do not freeze.
Whether it's user error, or the donuts got worn over time, I dunno.

I think a magic rack or accurack is a better solution because the holes are positioned by a machine
with pretty tight tolerances, rather than by a shaky human hand trying to position by dead reckoning.
And you can lift it off the cloth and reposition it later, which means divots form less easily
since the rack will never be in the exact same place every time, the way the donuts will.

I have been trying to keep from doing any sales pitches in discussions anymore but what the heck... The Outsville Accu-Rack System is the only system I have seen so far that allows you to get gapless racks when the balls get really worn in... Put the balls on the template push forward and let them settle and you can watch the gaps disappear...... They also protect the table and allow for great racks on old divotted cloth...

Even saying that if you have new cloth and new balls buy a delta 13 or Diamond triangle and slap the crap out of anyone who taps ANY balls... I am old school and like the sounds of racking the balls in a conventional manner.. And RACK YOUR OWN.....

If they won't let me rack my own then somebody better hand them a magic rack or one of our Accu-Rack templates... The days of the slug are over.....

last I knew the slug doctor wasnt being sold. I didnt know about the copyright issue. That sucks as Racktight is a one time use product and it seems that the "donuts" need replaced every once in a while.

I am surprised there are copyright issues as these are different products. I see both sides of the argument. The slug doctor is a tool to make the rack tight system. It is an improvement of an existing idea.

I had a slug doctor but it got lost when I moved.

just tap in the balls, works fine-no gadgets required

Double ugggggghhhhh

Tapping them in causes variances with equator heights... It's like setting permanent gaps in a rack to some extent because the contact points are altered which changes tangents and balls can be wired or kept out of the pocket.....

Good test of this is to put a wing ball on a few business cards and break from dead center to simulate deep divots on the ball in front of and behind the wingball... You can actually get the wing ball flying all the way to the pocket......

Couple divots in the cloth with irregular ball sizes and you end up back in the days of hit it hard and hope and all the work on the break you put in goes right out the window.....

This is where I think Simonis and Saluc changed the game and is one reason the old school players still try and just power the break instead of studying it like Shane and the new guard... Consistent cloth and balls make for consistent breaks... The Magic Rack will mimic perfect balls if there are within spec... The Accu-Rack System will mimic perfect balls and cloth even out of spec....

Even if you don't play with our templates if you are working on your break and want to truly understand how the balls are supposed to work and usually do work in big events you should buy a set just for that aspect of your practice....

I usually use the 10ball template to demo this fact... The back row ball next to the wing should be banking back under you if you are hitting the break right playing that game... Without the template do you know if it was you or the rack that caused it to do something else???
