I think he only put that joint on his Harvey Martin tribute type cue. I could be wrong though...but isn't that more of a collar/ with a wood/wood joint?
The first TAD I ever saw was in Nashville, being used by some road player who played real jamp up....and it was that model/style cue.
I think alot of what appears to be ivory might also be phenolic, as he ships alot of cues to japan and can't export ivory. I could be wrong.
The joint in your photo is definitely wood to wood. I will say, you mentioned you dont like the SW hit....and I would guess that is close (for a TAD) so you might stick with his stainless joint, since that seems more your cup of tea.
