Anyone ever use/make a Uni-Loc Quick Release shaft insert made from phenolic? Are there enough threads to keep things tight, and how did you like the hit?

I had a z2 made for my custom cue from the guy at rat cues. My cue is a bebot bautista with a uni loc joint. I was disappointed when I got it back and it had a phenolic insert. The feel wasnt close to what I was use to with my pechauer with a z2. Now I don't even use it, I use the standard shaft which feels and plays as good as the z2.
I had a problem with the roll of the cue and the finish being cloudy when I got it back. And rather getting into it I'm not gonna waste my time bickering about it. It was brought to his attention. Back to the original post a phenolic insert can be done it won't feel the same as a metal one.
Any cue builder or repair feedback?
Asking for feedback would suggest that the responder has had some personal experience; I haven't.
I do have experience however with using phenolic inserts but not for the Uni-QR.
I prefer them for the big pins including Uni-Radial, 10, 11, etc. and even CueTec.
I have my doubts as to the long-term feasibility of a Uni-QR insert made from phenolic.
One thread engagement scares me.
29-30" of shaft is being secured to the cue by one small, narrow strip of thin phenolic.
Is there an advantage to this? What is to be gained? And yes, I can certainly see the hit being affected.

The cue you sent in did not have a Uniloc pin. It was a bastard pin. I tried to build a brass insert for that particular cue twice and it wouldn't work out due to the pin configuration. The insert I built has little bearing on how that shaft plays and feels.
I offered to have you return the shaft, at my cost, so I could take a look at your concerns but you declined. I was, and still am, willing to make things right.
ALL 2nd Gen Predator shafts have a phenolic insert built 2" into the the joint end of the shaft. A brass insert may be installed into said phenolic.
I sincerely doubt that Phillipine Custom would play similarly to a Pechauer regarless of the shaft/insert. Very different types of cue IMO.
To answer your question, I've never seen a Uniloc insert made from phenolic. I'm sure it could be done, though.
