Philiippine Int'l Open 9-Ball

Hagit Cebu 9-ball

By the way another 9-Ball event will be held here in our City of Cebu.
And Warren Kiamco and "Dodong" Andam are our very own will set to defend his turf, against the like of Alcano, Corteza, Orcullo, Gabica and also
from the young guns like Jeff "Bata" Luna.

And by the way the "Hagit" is a Cebuano term one of
the dialect here in the Philippines means "Challenge"
for your info.

Here's the story.

32 players will vie for this one on June 25-29 here, and 17 of them
will be from around the world and the rest are
filipinos like efren, busta, pagulayan, manalo, alcano, valle etc.

Here's the story on the net.

This sounds great but whoever decided on the dates wants shooting! They are the same dates as the world champ qualifiers. This will also hurt the philipinos who havent qualified and will have to choose between both.

How I wish I can be there . :-(
Cebu is one lovely city.
Great food and beaches.

I think they have that thinking already that they already made a qualifying
game for WPC via San Miguel Tour which was last held here in the Phils.
Secondly Taiwan is not that far from here, in fact the top most part
or even in Zamboanga (Mindanao) you could here the crow of the cock from Taiwan as they would jokingly say. And besides a lot of them already are qualified who are playing this tournament. So that could be the PROBABLE reason IMO.

Nice Pict Joey.
Looks like your taking the picture inside an airplane and most
probably in Mactan (which is very historical place also).

Yap so many good things are happening in Cebu notwitstanding
its good beaches and food (and delicacies too, danggit, otap etc.).
But unfortunately as of late Cebu is getting crowded and traffic is
getting worse, but of course Manila would still be the no. 1 traffic
log jam place here in the Phils as you already know.

When was your last time you were here if you dont mind? ;)

Prelude

The Phil Int'l Open 9-Ball will be the prelude to WPC.

I would love to see the "Higit....." in Cebu. Darn, my scheduled vacation to go home is only in July.

The Filipino players on the Phil Int'l Open are already qualified for WPC. What I would guess is that the Cebu "Higit....." players will be the ones going to WPC Qualifiers.

Go Pinoys Go. :)

My padrino was just there with his wife. They stayed there on the way to Samar.
He said the traffic during the day wasn't so bad. It was at night that the traffic gets worse.
I think eventually Cebu, just like all big cities in Asia now, will need a mono-rail/train or tram transportation system.
Cebu's gonna keep growing as a new tv and film institute/center has opened there.
Manila is a lot of fun but the traffic there is just ridiculous.

Keep us posted.
