Phillippi S/P Purchase Question

I play with a Jacoby but have heard great things on Phillippi S/P's.
I purchased this one: http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/spo/1775734242.html off Ebay for $299 but there were no other bids. The seller had 100% on over 500 transactions so I had trust in it. The person listed it on both Ebay and Craigslist. Is this price high or is it a risk? I have not recieved cue yet; should be here this week. Thanks for any input!

Phillippi

I shoot with a Phillippi and they are very good cues. That is a fair price I think. Never had a S/P. If you ever decide to upgrade I might have something you like.

well its a very soft market you have to take that into consideration.. its hard for people to put $300 into a used true sneaky im sure the cue hits great and plays the same

That is about right for a used Phillippi SP in real good condition. Rick starts the very basic SP out at around $300-325...that one has the fancy ring above the butt. It probably retailed for $375-400 direct from Phillippi. They play real good. I would not worry too much about the cue, if it is as described...don't know anything about the seller, though.

Jacoby cues are very under-rated, as far as playability goes, IMO. I have owned several Jacoby cues, and at least a couple of them were true monster players. Great cues for little money.

I'll definitely keep this in mind. Will have to see how the SP shoots. I love how my Jacoby hits but it's been over five years - seeing what a different style feels like.

Thanks Everyone.

I bought mine (hits unbelievable) for 280, so with the extra work on that one.. it's a fair price. If you don't like how it hits... then start saving up for the psychiatrist

I got lucky-when a Pro didn't have the cash for his custom order!!

Mr Phillippi to you- move to the east coast, and you will see (The phillippi movement out there. Hokins Expo- I pd 1,100.(2003) for a custom 60 inch- with 43 ivory inlays. Balance is unbelievable- I'd send it to Ricky and have a blk bore skin wrap on it.
