Phoenix Custom Cues

Does anyone know anything about the company? Their website is still up but none of the contact information is correct. I've been trying to get a hold of one for bout 5 years now.

Anyone have opinions about these cues? I don't have an extraordinary collection or anything, my top 3 cues is the phoenix, porper and a ck. And the phoenix has to take it. Just seeing what other people have to say. But I'm still on the search for another one. I'm hoping that someone knows where they are now, it'd be nice to pick up a fresh one. Thanks for checking out my post.
 
They went out of business at least 3 or 4 years ago. That's all I really know about them.

Contact Krbsailing, Ken , here on the forum . I know he was selling a Phoenix
a short while back. Not sure if it sold. David
 
Phoenix Cues

Hi Dave, thanks for the plug :)

I just sold my Phoenix Ebony cue today :D These guys were in business for 2 or 3 years down in Arizona. They made some great playing cues but, for whatever reason they split up the business!?!?

There are a few dealers around the country that may still have a few of there cues in stock????

IMHO for the $$$ they play as well as anything -- well balanced -- nice finish -- solid playability too!

Yes, the definitely went out of business. I am good friends with the guys who used to own them. They stopped making them because they were not selling well back when they were in business. I talked to one of the former owners about a month and a half ago. We have been friends for about 4-5 years now. I'll have to give Matt a call and let him know you were asking about his cues. He will love the praise you gave his cues.

Too bad they went out of business. There's too much of that stuff now a days


Andy Scott learned the art of cue making in the early nineties while working in the shop of renowned cue maker Jerry McWorter. When he returned to Phoenix he bought a lathe and began building and repairing cues in his garage. At some point during the mid-nineties, no one really knows when, Andy began calling his operation Phoenix Custom Cues. In February of 2001, Andy took on a partner, Matt Davidow. Together they incorporated the company, drastically increased production, and began wholesaling Phoenix Custom Cues worldwide.

You might try Main Street Billiards in Tucson Az. They used to be one of the largest Phoenix Cue dealers.

Andy and Matt were partners. They also had a 3rd partner, Kevin Tone. For a while, they traveled all over the country. Matt and Kevin stayed in Vegas and Andy went back to Arizona. I just left a message for Matt. We talk every few months.

Two years ago, a bunch of us were in Vegas for APA. Our friend had his cue stolen while he was playing poker. It was a Phoenix cue. I called Matt to tell him about it and to keep his eyes open for it. He then got excited and said to Kevin, "Business wasn't the best for us, but Hey, our cues are getting stolen now!"

I'll have to ask him if he knows of anywhere to get any of their cues now. Once I hear from him, I'll let you know if he knows where one can be purchased.

Yep. He was one of the guys who started the company. Eventually it became Andy, Matt and I'm not sure who else.

Kevin was the 3rd partner. Kevin, Andy and Matt are all great guys and super nice people. Andy always reminded me of Popeye when he was playing pool with the one eye shut.
 
Actually, I had told him that in the past and he laughed. Andy is a great guy and a darn good pool player. He loves music too. Andy was a dear friend when I was going through a rough time, and he was like a big brother to me. I will always be greatful that he was in my life.
