Judging from the pass events he has joined in 2005, Yang will most likely win the WPC. He's at the peak of his performance.

Alex will be my next choice.

Manalo is next.
 
Sorry Blowfish but I totaly disagree with you my four picks to possibly win it this year are:

1. Thorsten "The Hitman" Hohmann (Bias cos I have a bet on him)
2. Earl "The Pearl" Strickland
3. Johnny "The Scorpion" Archer
4. Niels "The Terminator" Feijen

And if that isn't 4 people strong enough to win it then I don't know who is.
 
Judging by what Ive seen Im going to go out on a huge limb and say I think an "Asian" player will win it :-)

Persoanlly I hope it's Efren as I think this cememnt his place as the greatest all round pool player, he needs more than one 9 ball title though IMO to assure this.
 
my picks in order would be..

yang. he is gonna win it sooner or later. i think he is playing the best pool in the world for a couple of years already. its just a matter of time.

bustamante. how you gonna count him out? he did not win a world title yet. he is definintly hungry. he is gonna explode soon.

alex. he was in the final for the last couple of years. and won it last year. thats enuf said.

corey. he is so smooth and makes the game look so easy i had to add him in.. i only question his hunger to win it all.
 
My picks are:

Corey Deuel- because when he is focused he is the best in the world, and his knowledge keeps him in tournaments
Yang- playing really well and is hungry
Putnam- can suprise anyone and has the skill
