Yes these are overlay cues, however they do look & play very nice.
The shafts are white maple and very clean wood.

I believe overlays mean "decals" used on the cue that are then coated over, so they are not inlay, or inlaid in the cue.

Transfer designs

There is no name. Like I say they were imported by Palmer. Logos cost extra money. Logos and inlays do not make a cue hit any better.
As Go Tulane says overlay is another way of saying decal. Design transfers are place over in this case some pretty nice pieces of wood. It is than clear coated. You do not feel any edge of the transfer. If you were to refinish the cues you would end up with some pretty nice plain janes. It's just decoration. Check the forearm grain on some of the choices.

I can't believe I'm considering buying any more crap- and by crap I'm not referring to your merchandise- I'm referring to the crap my wife is gonna give me if I spend any more $ on cues this month (already over $1200 ).
