Pool players, railbirds, backers, & bookies have just as much character as any poker player you see on tv. If you had the chance to pick 6 people in the pool world and sit them down at a WPT table, which 6 would you pick??? This is all about the personalities not pool skills. I could easily watch a 2 hr episode with the following people sitting at the table....

Shannon Daulton
Tony Watson
Keith McCready
Earl Strickland
Shawn Putnam
Little Jon

My dream "pool playing" poker table:

Charlie "Hillbilly" Bryant
Tommy Kennedy
Marcus Chamat
Ismael Paez
Tony Chohan
Cliff Joyner

I'd have to go with a combination of sjm's and Timberly's picks, plus one:

Keith McCready
Shannon Daulton
Tony Watson
Marcus Chamat
Mark Tadd
Charlie Bryant

This is an interesting point. Has anybody else noticed that a number of pool players are just dissappearing. When you ask "where's so-and-so" the answer always seems to be "he's playing poker now, he can make more $$ doing that". Seems like around here a number of the middle of the road players are leaving the game. They feel they don't have to practice much at poker and they can make more money playing poker. Really too bad.

I certainly don't want to see that either. I was just thinking how much fun it would be to watch a certain group of pool players woofing it up at a round table... In life I would much rather watch these guys shoot pool.

I didn't mean to throw cold water on your thread. I just see poker taking---nah, that's not the right term---siphoning off pool players and I worry that this trend will hurt pool.

I can't stand to watch poker, it bores me to tears.

For me it depends on who is playing. There's times when I can watch it and there's times when I have no interest whatsoever. It all depends on who the players are... hence the idea for this thread. I didn't take your post as cold water on the thread... I completely see where you're coming from and totally agree.

We had to reschedule our 1st Sat. of the month tournament to the last Sat. because of a 1st Sat. of the month poker tournament. :(
