Why would you stoop so low as to promote dr dave on JAMISON'S thread.
I got a question for Mr. Masse then.
-I am curious as to why following through so much on the cue ball makes so much more draw/more spin. You have a video on Youtube that you explain, if you do not drop the elbow you will not get as much draw etc..Are you trying to keep the tip on the cueball longer?.
-Also where do you want most of your acceleration in a stroke, right before you hit the cueball would get maximum results?.
-What is the difference between someone who is punching the ball, and someone who is stroking the ball?. Is the person who is punching the ball, or jabbing the ball decelerating through the cueball?

Sorry for the miscommunication. I must have let my mind run away again. I will find it i hope.
I can see how you could be confused by Jamison's signature tag ("Mr. Masse"). You'd know the difference if you heard them - Jamison is Mr. mah-SAY and Mike Massey is Mr. MASS-ee.
Good to hear from you, Mr. mah-SAY.

You have a better chance of kicking 2 rails to make the 1 than having a masse and possibly putting too much spin on it and having the cue ball follow the 1 into the pocket.
Jamison,
Thank you so much for this thread- it has been a long time since i've seen a thread that has this much to contribute to the pool world.

My question is:would you describe your ideal masse cue-QUOTE]
http://www.cuemaker.com/massegallery.htm
about half way down it describes my ideal masse cue...I have made some updates and like I said as I get older I am adapting my equipment...It grows as I do is how I look at it.
weight= I currently have a cue that has the capability of being five cues...
I use an interchangable weight system the cue can be 22,24,26,28,30,and 32 oz. well I guess that is six different masse cues. I normaly use the big one. I used to try all the different ones this was stregth training...
length= Well my cue today is longer than most masse cues by about 6 inches...I think Dieckman says they are 48 inches in length.
weight distrubution= If the wieght is front of your hand it is easier to swing the cue straight?? Once you start downward it helps to have the weight between your hands.
shaft diameter=??? bigger than most I guess it has a billiard type taper on it. A pure Cone looking taper!
tip size= I had some custom built for the cue...they are 15mm
tip hardness= not as hard as possible, but very hard.
ferrule= I was using brass ferrules It was a mistake...I recently switched back to synthetic ivory. They will break but not as often as other types of plastics...
joint= I have found the last one I will probably ever use G-10 Dieckman has put them in my playing cue and my masse cue...It is the best...
I hope this answers your post...

I've read the BAR piece before. I was curious to know how Jamison aimed/executed his shots during normal play (to see if there was a different method among those who actually win masse championships).
Jamison - how does the BAR method differ from yours - or is it the same?
