Manwon,

Here are some pics of our newly reopened pool room in Batesville , Indiana.
It's small , but we have a Steppleton 5x10 Snooker table , National 9 footer , and 2 valley supreme 7 footers. We also house our pool cue shop in the back for ready repairs and custom cues. We still have seval wall items to fixure up and get in place with some nice unique rouches from the misses also to come.
I hand built the benches and shelves along with the counter and snack area. It ain't much , but I think it adds that ole touch don't ya think?
I am also a bad night owl both room owner and cue builder. We should chat sometime , could use all the helpful hints I can take in!

Hope you enjoy!

much nicer than the old place jim
i'll be visiting again soon i hope
congratulations

Thanx guys. Put a lot of late nights painting and sanding. We went with the 7 ball maroon to add the classic yet not so outdated look. Will have to see what Manwon says?
Yeh Brent , I like it much better. Alil smaller , but much more poolroomy I think.
Now if I could get my cues to get such a warm responce?
Thanx again guys , it's very appreciated here by the lot of us.

have you posted more pictures of your cues that i missed?

I'm not a room owner, but I'm a General Contractor who specializes in smaller commercial projects like this and so far it looks like your on the way to having a nice room here.

If it's any help, I'll make a few professional observations.

1, The wall color and floor colors are great.

2. The white door, window, and base trim should be anything but white. The ideal option would be to have wood trim stained to match or compliment the color of the trim on the tables, but an inexpensive alternative may be to simply find a paint color that matches the shade of the trim on the tables.

3. Honestly, to me, the benches don't look comfortable at all and I would be afraid of catching a splinter on a pair of pants. I highly recommend soft cushion bar stools, preferably with a small back to them. People could move them around as needed depending on the size of the group and be far more comfortable and thus staying longer. Since you probably have drywall walls, I would recommend a soft bar chair that can bump the wall without scatching it or you'll be out there with spackle and a can of paint every week.

4. Paint the ceiling tile. You only need to paint the bottom side. Any earth tone will work. You could even try a checkerboard pattern, or a border type pattern. Maybe paint the tile on the border the same color as the pool table trim and paint the rest green like the cloth, and maybe paint a couple balls with numbers like the ceiling was a big pool table? :D

5. Ditch the flourescents. If you can get some cheap track lighting for the walls and some table lights you'll be fine.

Maybe your already considering all of these things, and I haven't seen you old place, but I hope this stuff helps and best of luck with your new place! :D
