Just a question

On a standard Brunswick Gold Crown pocket opening, do the facings get cut to the front of the feather strip, or only when the subrail is extended for relief so the pocket ears sit nice?

Why do some facings have lots of nylon over the rubber and some not so much or not at all?
 
I cut my facings to the back of the feather strip even to the formica. Some facings are dif, are you saying that there dif within a set that you purchased? Material helps glue hold. Be careful not to use hard facings.

I purchased two sets. One has lots of "cloth" on the rubber and the rubber is harder to cut. The other set has little "cloth" on the rubber and is easy to cut. (with a sharp knife)

What is the first and second best way to cut facings? I say second because I do not have the tools the average table mech. has. What would happen if the facings are cut to the front of the feather strip? What advantage is there to cut to the formica?
 
job looks better when cut back and even with formica to me. Razor blade works fine and some light sanding if needed. Softer is better IMO but I don't know what durometer your using.
 
I agree soft is better and they do look better cut to the back of the feather stripping. Great looking table if I were going with paint that color combo is what i would use love the white and blue. Very nice looking table. I am working on a GC2 myself. Right now I am doing a subrail extension. My brother is staining the aprons and legs to match the formica rails. should be finished this weekend with everthing. I will try to share some pics.
