Hello,

I want to order a new cue. It shall be made very simple. As I öike cocobolo so much, the forearm and buttend shal be made from cocobolo. The wrap area shall be made from ebony. A litte decent ringwork, Joint ring black juma and also the buttend black juma.

I want to ask kindly if anyone has pictures from such a similar cue.

Pretty close to what you are looking for:

These are Cuechanger Naturals II cues, which are engineered by Markus Vogt (cuechanger) and made by Oliver Stops.
They are great cues imo, for this set we made one with AAA Birdseye and one with AAA Cocobolo.

They start at around $650 including one excellent shaft, fancy rings and leather wrap.

Hi Dave, as far as I know these naturals are not cored, aren't they? What is the length and the weight of the cocobolo natural?

Hi Michael,

No they are not cored. The Cocobolo was sold about 3 seconds after it was ready 8 months ago.
You will have to pry it from willusch' cold dead hands. Generally these cues are not very heavy,
around 18.5 to 19.5 depending on wood, they are always 59" evenly split.

BTW, we do have more cocobolo of similar quality.

I know! I've tried one natural in your shop in Collogne (Köln) and I must say theses cues play very very nice! They are nearly exactly what I prefer as convenient. But I must do this project to get exactly that design what I want and that special construction with a single core.

I made two drafts. White phenolic unstead of black at the Joint and buttend.

What do you think about V2? It looks better to me, and the ringwork not too dominating, maybe similar to Eric Crisp's.?? What would be a good ringwork?

Hi Dave, thanks for your reply. Just a question of understanding: Would you reduce the length of forearm due to reasons of playability, or is it going about the optical impression?

Hello Michael,

Purely optical reasons. I believe with the full one-piece core it will make 0 difference in how the cue plays.

Yes, I hope so too. To me both V1 and V2 look nice, and V1 is more classic design. But V1 is too close to my existing cocobolo cue. With V2 I want to accent the cocobolo a little bit more. And I think this design accents also a bit more the lankiness. But I'll think about your idea and make another draft based on V2 with a little shorter forearm.

If it's going about the rings I tend more and more to pretty narrow and decent ringwork, perhaps purely made of wood / veneer.

Yesterday I talked to that cuemaker from Munich, Cem, and he told me that he can core in a bigger diameter at the handle section, too, not only at the buttend. I hope this will help too stay at ~ 19 oz.
