X Breaker

Nice Gallery. That shaft jump by Larry is nuts.

I'm pretty interested in this stick and the tip. Does anyone in the Sacramento area have one that I can take a look at before I get one?

He jumped the balls 1mm apart.
Vincent from France (2 times world trick shot champion), was jumping one chalk away yesterday! Just when I thought I have seen it all, today Larry did it 1 mm away!
I have posted a video of the shot on my site.

It's really not that difficult with the shaft only. Any phenolic tipped shaft will work. I can do it with my sledgehammer shaft fairly repeatably. You should try it, it's amazingly easy.

Thanks for the pics ;)

Jumping within 1mm apart is easy??? WOW you must have a heck of a stroke. Cmon, 1mm jump isn't easy at all!!!

It's not hard, if you practice it. Try it 200 times, you'll get the feel of it.

(This is with THE SHAFT ONLY W/PHENOLIC TIP)

can the same shot be exicuted using the jump butt or is it too heavy? i am not sure that the use of the shaft alone is legal.

There is a video floating around of a guy named Dragon who jumps with I believe a Bunjee Jump Cue (with jump butt). The balls are almost touching before he jumps.

my question was regarding the x breaker exclusively. it was posted as if this was an impressive shot but like others have said this can be done with any shaft and phenolic tip and a decent player.

Hi everyone,

I have posted some pictures of the US Open here in my gallery. I will try my best to post new pictures everyday (but most likely at the end of the day). Enjoy!

Thanks, NipponBilliards! I did enjoy looking at your pics! :)

I was very pleased to meet you this past Open. I remember the pictures you posted of Vancouver, and if there is EVER a place that I'd like to retire, it would be THERE. Those pictures, too, were extraordinary and very much appreciated.

BTW, NipponBilliards was one of the vendors at this year's U.S. Open who completely sold out his wares, with some on back order. I'm glad that you enjoyed success.

NipponBilliards, you are a very nice young man, full of personality and charisma. I truly enjoyed chatting with you. You are fun to be around, and I look forward to seeing you once again on the tournament trail. :)

Hi JAM,
It was a real pleasure meeting you. I really enjoyed watching Keith compete.
What really impressed me was seeing him trying to help out some young kids to learn how to play pool, I think that is one of the best thing a good player can do to promote pool.
I will be looking forward to meeting you and Keith again in the near future. Hopefully, we would have more time to get to know each other.
Thank you very much.
Regards,
Richard

I thought the degree of difficulty of the 1mm jump was rather obvious.
Anyway, Larry Nevel did that shot in front of a lot of people in the US open. He did that shot quite a few times. One time he actually jumped too far that the cue ball jumped off the table.
The interesting thing is no one at the US open commented on that shot being easy. I guess the really good jumpers were not there in the US Open. They must be busy posting on the Internet.
The Xtreme tip holds chalk better than any phenolic tip. This shot can be done with a phenolic tip and I have no doubt it can be done with a leather tip as well. It is just a matter of how consistent and how easy it is to do so. When you try a tip which holds chalk much better, you can have more confidence and more consistency with your close jumps. Nowadays, more and more tournaments require jumping with a full cue, the hardness of the tip and how well it holds chalk can really make a difference.
