Pin preference

I am very much a newbie compared to most posters on this forum, so this may seem like a stupid question.

Other than quick assembly, why would one pin be better than any other?

I am particularly interested if you have tried several pins and can tell me why you like one better than another.

(Before asking this question, I did a forum search on "pin preference," but "pin" is "too small" and ignored by the search.)

3/8-10.i like it when the person i'm playing pulls out a 5/16-14 or 18,i pull out my big 3/8-10, when they see my pin is bigger,it's like an enzyte commercial and i'm bob.

actually i have a uniloc w/ss joint,a 5/16-14 ss joint,2 5/16-18 ss joint,3/8-10 w phenolic and a 3/8 -10 ivory.i can't tell much of a difference.
