What happened to the group of young players from Western PA? There was time when these kids were household names in the world of junior pool. Shane Hennan, Ryan Ziegler, Colin Hennan, Adam Maloney and so on... I've played in some tournaments with this group and I am really curious why none of them have pursued things beyond the junior ranks.

Probably the biggest reason that none of these players you mention are still household names is because they weren't all that stellar in that stellar in the first place. Colin and Adam went to college and stopped playing, and Ryan and Shane still play at Breakers and occasionally go on the road. There might be 40-50 players in Pennsylvania alone who could beat these two playing even up 9-ball. They did do well in junior tournaments 3-5 years ago, but I don't think that you could call any of them junior phenoms like you could with Shannon Daulton back in the early 90s. And none of the players you mentioned could beat Gerry Slivka with the 6-ball.
