This kind of question is more appropriate for the "Ask the cuemakers" forum than the "Main" forum.

What kind of equipment do you have now? Are you wanting a repair lathe or cue building lathe?

For the size, weight, operability and price....go with Chris Hightower's Cue Smith lathes. www.cueman.com
I've got a Mid-Size Cue Smith and love it. I wish it had the larger spindle bore though! I've met with Chris and he's a great guy, very knowledgeable about the cue building equipment.

To answer your question, right now I have a small shaft repair lathe that I built myself, would like to get something capable of doing joint work and taper work I am currently getting the money together to buy all my equip. and am figuring out the route I want to go, I really like Chris's deluxe lathe, its on the top of the list would best fit my shop. I do have access to a big metal lathe , but it isnt at my own shop, any major work I can do there but want a lathe for my own shop . thanks
