I will be in Austin, TX next week for a conference. Can anyone recommend any good poolhalls close to downtown?

Thanks

Just a bit north of Austin right on the south bound side of I-35 in Round Rock is a Fast Eddies and G-Cue

Eric's is on Airport right around 45th street, right near the freeway (IH-35). Downtown is about 2nd street through about 11th street, extending west from the freeway. So, if you have a car, Eric's is very close, but stay away from that freeway at or near rush hour (try Red River instead). The bus will get you there no problem as well. If you aren't going to have a car, I can clue you in on the best routes to take.

Great! Thanks for the info guys. Hopefully I can get out and shoot some stick while I am there.

That's got to be close to half an hour driving from downtown in light traffic.

its been a while since i was there, but Clicks on Oltorf used to bring in a few players during the day - 9balllvr

Buffalo Billiards

Whenever I'm in austin, I like going to Buffalo billiards cuz of the atmosphere. The tables are "ok" , but that's all they are. I haven't played any serious pool there... I just bang balls. I have not seen any decent players there at all (the 6 or 7 times i've been there)

Are there any decent players that go there? If not, why?

Where's the best place to see action in Austin?

Are you looking to match up or just play a bit?

Nah, I wasn't looking to match up. Just wanted to shoot around a bit. Maybe learn a little from the local players.
